With over two decades at the forefront of precision cutting education, Jay Mahmood is internationally recognised as a leading educator, creative director and platform artist whose influence has shaped thousands of stylists and educators worldwide.
Born and raised in London, he started his career at 16 at Vidal Sasson. His talent and dedication earned him a position as a full-time educator at the Academies. By just 23, he had become one of the company’s youngest academy leaders, earning a reputation for technical mastery and leadership. He later served as Academy Principal at Allilon Education, leading the education team and welcoming stylists from around the world to advance their skills.
Jay’s global impact expanded through his role as Global Creative Director of Haircutting for Goldwell, where he developed the company’s global haircutting education system, trained the educators worldwide, and presented shows and seminars across North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, the Middle East and South Africa, making him one of the most extensively travelled educators in the industry.
Now based in the USA, he welcomes stylists from across the globe to the Jay Mahmood Advanced Academy in the San Francisco Bay Area, where they can experience his world-renowned education, including his exclusive Teacher Training Program. He was recently appointed Pro Artistic Partner for luxury brands Shu Uemura and Kerastase, combining his techniques with the highest standards in luxury haircare.
